Configure the scope for Data Marketplace in Search
Important This topic is intended for those configuring the scope for Data Marketplace in Search, which is available only in the latest UI. If you are configuring the scope for standalone Data Marketplace, go to Configure the Data Marketplace scope.
As an administrator, you can customize the out-of-the-box scope to expose exactly what makes sense for your data consumers. This includes defining which data is relevant and meets your quality or governance standards. You can configure the scope based on asset type, status, and organization. Data Marketplace in Search considers these three scope definitions. For example, if you choose to include only Reports as the asset type, Approved as the status, and Marketing as the organization, you get results that meet only these specified criteria.
In your environment, data consumers must request access on the data set and report levels. As a result, you want to show only approved data sets and reports in Data Marketplace in Search. To achieve this, you can configure the following scope:
- Asset Types: Data Set, Report
- Statuses: Approved
- Organization: all
If you enable relation-based search, data consumers can also use column names as search text. Then, Data Marketplace in Search shows the related data set and reports in the search results, instead of the Column assets.
In your environment, you keep track of approved marketing data in a community named Marketing-Approved-Community. As a result, you want to show the data of only the specified community in Data Marketplace in Search. To achieve this, you can configure the following scope:
- Asset Types: all
- Statuses: all
- Organization: Marketing-Approved-Community
Prerequisites
You have a global role that has the System administration global permission.
