About Data Marketplace

Data Marketplace makes data discovery easy for everyone in the organization by allowing searching in a curated subset of assets.

  • Data Marketplace searches only for data within a defined scope. This Data Marketplace scope allows Data Marketplace to search only for specific asset types, such as data sets and reports, asset statuses, communities, and domains. Administrators can extend and refine this scope.
  • Data Marketplace makes searching for data easier because specific filters, also referred to as filter facets, are available to refine the search results. For example, you can search for data based on specific relations between assets.

In Collibra, you have the following Data Marketplace variants.

Moving from standalone Data Marketplace to Data Marketplace in Search

If you have configured standalone Data Marketplace before and want to configure Data Marketplace in Search, consider the following:

  • Your current configuration of the Data Marketplace scope, filter facets, relation indexes, asset preview actions, and update emails are automatically applied to Data Marketplace in Search. Any changes you make will apply to both Data Marketplace variants.
  • Quick filters available in Data Marketplace in Search are not the same as the ones defined in standalone Data Marketplace. You will need to configure them separately. Note that quick filters apply to all users. To create a filter for a specific user group, use a search filter.
  • The available search filters in Data Marketplace in Search aren't the same as the personal saved filters and preconfigured filter tabs in standalone Data Marketplace. Personal saved filters will need to be configured as a search filter. If you want to provide preconfigured filters to a specific group, you will need to configure them as a search filter.
  • Any landing page configuration applies only to standalone Data Marketplace.
