About Data Marketplace

Data Marketplace provides a streamlined way for data consumers to find and access assets relevant to their business domain.

Data consumers can:

  • Explore assets through Data Marketplace categories, which are custom groups of assets.
  • Access featured assets.
  • Discover helpful resources, such as links and workflows.
  • Search and filter within the specific Data Marketplace scope.
  • Track the status of their access requests from their user profile.

For more information, go to Navigating and searching in Data Marketplace.

Data Marketplace administrators enable and shape the experience. They define the Data Marketplace landing page, categories, featured assets, asset cards, search filter, and resources.

Administrator can:

  • Make only relevant, high-quality data available for organization-wide use.
  • Create a tailored search experience.
  • Encourage interaction via contextualized workflows.

Data Marketplace is enabled by default in Collibra Platform.

The following image shows an example of what Data Marketplace can look like.

Note
  • This feature is available only in the latest UI.

  • Data Marketplace seamlessly upgrades the previous Data Marketplace application, preserving your underlying scope, shopping, workflows, and asset models.

Data Marketplace in search

Data Marketplace in Search integrates Data Marketplace into the Collibra Platform search. With the correct permissions, data consumers can have the Data Marketplace experience on the Collibra search page, providing them access to a curated subset of assets.

Note Data Marketplace in Search is available only in the latest UI.

Previous Data Marketplace experience

If you disable Data Marketplace, Collibra uses the previous Data Marketplace experience instead. The previous experience is a dedicated search portal with similar functionality to Data Marketplace.

To re-enable Data Marketplace, go to Overview: Configuring and enabling Data Marketplace.
