Overview: Configuring and enabling Data Marketplace

This page gives an overview of the steps Data Marketplace administrators need to follow to configure Data Marketplace.

Review your existing Data Marketplace configuration before enabling Data Marketplace. Depending on your environment, you may already have a Data Marketplace scope, filter facets, and relation indexes configured.

If these settings already meet your requirements, you only need to configure the landing page details, featured assets, resources, categories, and filters. Otherwise, review and update the Data Marketplace scope, relation indexes, and filter facets before completing the remaining configuration steps.

Prerequisites to configure Data Marketplace

Steps overview: Configure Data Marketplace

  1. Configure or review the Data Marketplace scope through Settings > Data Marketplace > Data Marketplace scope.
  2. If you want to configure additional filters:
    • Configure the filter facets through Settings > Search > Filter facets.
    • Define relation indexes for more advanced facets.
  3. Configure the Data Marketplace landing page through Settings > Data Marketplace > Landing page.
  4. Configure the content in the asset cards through Settings > Data Marketplace > Asset cards.
  5. Create the categories for Data Marketplace through Settings > Data Marketplace > Categories.
  6. Define which filters must be available for the data consumers from the landing page and in the categories through Settings > Data Marketplace > Filters. The filters are based on the defined filter facets.
  7. Configure the personal onboarding experience through Settings > Data Marketplace > General settings > Personal onboarding experience.
New users are prompted to select their favorite categories, which are then prominently displayed in the side navigation and prioritized in search results. Users can update their favorite categories at any time as their roles and projects evolve.
