About registering and integrating data sources
By registering or integrating a data source in Data Catalog, you bring in metadata at scale or on a scheduled basis from the data source in Collibra. You can integrate data from multiple data sources: databases, data lakes, warehouses, enterprise applications, ETL tools, BI solutions, and AI models.
The Integrations page in the Catalog application allows you to register a data source. This page contains two tabs:
-
The Data source registration tab allows you to create a Database or File System asset from which you can start the synchronization of a data source. Use this tab for JDBC, S3, GCS, and ADLS integrations.
-
The Integration configuration tab allows you to configure all other Metadata, ETL, BI, and AI integrations and start the synchronization. For example, Synchronize Databricks Unity Catalog, or Create a technical lineage via Edge.
Supported data sources
- Register data sources via JDBC Catalog connectors to connect to structured sources and collect metadata.
For Snowflake documentation, go to Steps overview: Integrate Snowflake via Edge. - Use native or API integrations for cloud platforms and tools that support automated ingestion:
