OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company that develops the GPT and o-series family of large language models. When you configure the OpenAI integration, Collibra ingests the metadata of the models and API endpoints available in your OpenAI project.
The OpenAI integration helps you automatically catalog all OpenAI model families and individual model versions available through your OpenAI project.

You can configure Edge connections and capabilities without an active AI Governance license. However, AI Governance must be enabled to harvest AI model metadata, ingest corresponding AI assets in Data Catalog, and access the dashboards and features necessary to visualize and govern your AI landscape.

To use the OpenAI integration, you need Collibra Platform 2026.09 or newer.

A separate Edge connection is required for each OpenAI project. OpenAI API keys are scoped to a single project, so a key issued in one project cannot access another. Create one connection per project, each using the API key for that specific project.
