Data Catalog uses specific asset types.

Elements that impact the page layout and contents of Catalog asset pages

The page layout and contents of an asset page depends on the asset type assignment, and, in the latest UI, on the defined page layout.

	tab bar	A bar with tabs that allows you to navigate to other pages of the asset. For example: Summary and Sample Data.
	Summary	The Summary tab page contains the main details of the asset, such as a description, the related business assets, the related data elements, the metadata of the column, the statistics for the column, sample data for the column, if available. Note Business context shows the Data Attributes and all Business assets, except Data Category, that are directly connected to the column: Column -> Data Attribute via the relation "Data Attribute represents Column." Column -> Business assets, except Data Category, via the relation "Business Asset represents Data Asset (Column)." Categorization helps to quickly assess how sensitive the data is. It displays the Data Categories connected to the column: Column → Data Category via relation "Business Asset (Data Category) represents Data Asset (Column)." Column → Data Attribute → Data Category via relations "Data Attribute represents Column" and "Data Category categorizes Data Asset (Data Attribute)." Tip Collibra AI can help you define descriptions.
	Sample data	The Sample data tab page shows the sample data of the related data elements that are grouped per table, if sample data exists and the user has access to it.
	Editor	The currently selected tab page in the tab bar. The contents depends on the asset type. For example, the Summary tab page contains a tab pane, which allows you to quickly navigate to sections in the page, such as Comments, or Ratings.

	Summary	The Summary tab page contains the main details of the asset, such as a description, the related business assets of both the table and its component columns, the related privacy assets of both the table and its component columns, the related columns. Note Business Context displays the Business assets connected to the table and all the columns related to this table: Table -> Business assets via the relation "Business Asset represents Data Asset (Table)". Categorization can help to quickly assess how sensitive the data is. It displays the Data Categories connected to the table: Table → Data Category via relation "Business Asset (Data Category) represents Data Asset (Table)". Table → Data Entity → Data Attribute → Data Category via relations "Data Asset (Data Entity) represents Table", "Data Entity contains Data Attribute", and "Data Attribute is part of Data Category". Table → Column → Data Category via relations "Column is part of Table" and "Business Asset (Data Category) represents Data Asset (Column)". Table → Column → Data Attribute → Data Category via relations "Column is part of Table", "Data Attribute represents Column", and "Data Category categorizes Data asset (Data Attribute)". 	Configuration (if you use Edge)	The Configuration tab page allows you to configure the synchronization, profiling, lineage extraction, and so on.
	Editor	The currently selected tab page in the tab bar. The contents depends on the asset type. For example, the Summary tab page contains a tab pane, which allows you to quickly navigate to sections in the page, such as Comments, or Ratings.

The Configuration tab page is available only if you use Edge. The tab page shows the Edge connection and the configured Edge capabilities, such as synchronization and profiling.

tab bar and tab pages

A tab bar with possible configurations for the Database asset. For example:

Metadata Synchronization: A tab page that shows the overview of all schemas in the database that you can synchronize and the status of the synchronization process.
Profiling: A tab page that allows you to profile the data.
Lineage Extraction: A tab page that allows you to synchronize your technical lineage.

On a Foreign key asset page, you can find the details of the foreign key and define what has to happen if there are changes to the foreign key.

Tip Do not change any of the ingested data of a foreign key as this can cause errors when you resynchronize the database. The Overview section in the Summary tab page contains the following sections: Foreign Key Update Rule: The Foreign Key Update Rule defines what has to be done when you refresh a schema where the primary key is updated. Imported No Action Imported Key Cascade Imported Key Set Null Imported Key Set Default Foreign Key Delete Rule: The Foreign Key Delete rule defines what has to be done when you refresh a schema where the primary key is deleted. Imported No Action Imported Key Cascade Imported Key Set Null Imported Key Set Default Foreign Key Evaluation Deferrability Imported Key Initially Deferred Imported Key Initially Immediate Imported Key Not Deferrable Foreign Key Mapping: The foreign key mapping defines the complex mapping between the primary key and the foreign key. For an example of a foreign key, see Foreign Key ingestion. Each foreign key mapping consists of the following information: constrains: The value is a column in a child table, its values are restricted by the values of the corresponding primary key. references: The value is the column of the parent table that is a primary key in the database. is part of: The value is the foreign key asset to which the mapping belongs. Key sequence: The value is the order of the constrains definitions.
