Users and Subscriptions settings page
The Users and Subscriptions settings page serves as the central hub for managing user access and understanding your Collibra Platform capabilities and license consumption. This section provides a guide to configuring user accounts and groups, monitoring license usage, viewing asset allowances, and understanding your current Collibra product package.
In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.
Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:
The Users and Subscriptions page of the Collibra settings allows you to:
- Define users and their permissions Collibra.
- Manage user groups.
- View license consumption and download monthly reports.
- View your current asset allowance with the new license model.
- View your current product package.
Collibra uses a standard user-group-role model where you create groups with assigned roles and add users to the groups. You can also assign roles to individual users.
Assigning roles to users or groups is important because:
- It provides or restricts permissions to perform certain actions in Collibra, such as editing asset attributes or deleting domains.
- It defines user responsibilities, which are mostly used in workflows to assign tasks to the correct users.
You can manage users in the following ways:
- SCIM: Manage users and groups via your identity provider.
- LDAP: Connect Collibra to your company's LDAP server to import users and groups.
- Manually: Create users and groups directly in Collibra.
The Users and Subscriptions page has several tab pages:
