Enable AI features for the semantic layer
If you want data stewards to get help from Collibra AI to create and maintain the semantic layer, enable the Semantic Model Generation setting in the Stewardship > AI Features section in Collibra Console. If you already enabled Collibra AI Copilot, you can also activate the semantic layer AI features using the AI Agents settings page.
Prerequisites
- You have the ADMIN or SUPER role in Collibra Console.
- Ensure that your environment uses the latest user interface.
Steps
- Open the DGC service settings for editing:
- Open Collibra Console.
Collibra Console opens with the Infrastructure page. - In the tab pane, expand an environment to show its services.
- In the tab pane, click the Data Governance Center service of that environment.
- Click Configuration.
- Click Edit configuration.
- Open Collibra Console.
- In the Stewardship section, enable the setting.

If you already enabled Collibra AI Copilot, you can also activate the semantic layer agents using the AI Agents settings page.
Important The use of Collibra AI isn't available in Collibra Platform for Government and Collibra Platform Self-Hosted environments. - Click Save all.
When enabled, the following Collibra AI agents become available to help in the creation and maintenance of the semantic layer.- Semantic Model Generation Agent: Automatically creates system-specific semantic views that map directly to governance assets, enabling quick data value realization without the complexity of implementing a full enterprise conceptual layer.
- Semantic Mapping Agent: Ensure that newly created or ingested physical data is properly mapped to the relevant semantic structure.
