Search result sorting

You can organize your search results on the search page using various sorting options. Sorting helps you quickly find the information. This topic describes the available sorting options and how to apply them to your search results.

Sorting options

The following options are available for sorting search results:

  • Relevance: Sorts the results based on relevance. For more information, go to Understanding search behavior and relevance.
  • Newest: Sorts the results in descending order of when they were last modified. The most recently modified results are shown at the top.
  • A-Z: Sorts the results in alphabetical order of names.
  • Z-A: Sorts the results in reverse alphabetical order of names.
  • Oldest: Sorts the results in ascending order of when they were last modified. The oldest results are shown at the top.
  • Name
  • Last modified on (newest to oldest)

Sort search results

  1. Perform a search via the search box or the Search widget.
  2. On the search page, in the upper-right corner, click next to the sort fieldthe Relevance menu.
  3. Select the sorting option.
    The results are sorted in descending order.
  4. Optional: To sort in ascending order, click .
