Change the owner of a dashboard

You can change the owner of a dashboard from the dashboard. If the Dashboard Ordering setting is enabled and you have the appropriate permissions, you can also change the owners of multiple dashboards by using the dashboard navigation pane.

Prerequisites

• Enable the Dashboard Ordering setting.
• To change the owner of your own dashboards, you have one of the following:
  • You have a global role that has the Manage shared Views, Dashboard and Search Filter global permission.
  • You have a global role that has the Manage your own Views, Dashboards, Search filters and Share your own Views, Dashboards, Search filters global permissions.
• To change the owner of shared dashboards: You have a global role that has the System administration and Manage shared Views, Dashboard and Search Filter global permissions.
• Ensure that your environment uses the latest user interface.

Steps

Change the owner from a dashboard

1. Open a dashboard.
2. Click Click → Change Owner.
   The Change Owner dialog box appears.
3. In the Change Owner dialog box, select the new owner from the drop-down list.
4. Click Save.

Change the owner from the dashboard navigation pane

1. Open a dashboard.
2. In the dashboard navigation pane, click Manage Dashboards.
   The Manage Dashboards page opens.
   
3. In the Owner column, double click next to the current owner for the dashboard you want to update.
   The Change Owner dialog box appears.
4. In the Change Owner dialog box, select the new owner from the drop-down list.
5. Click Save.
