Assign a domain type to an asset type

You can assign a domain type to an asset type by adding the domain type to the asset type's assignment. This allows users to create assets of that asset type in domains of the assigned domain type, as long as the domain is in the assignment's scope.

Important

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

Prerequisites

You have a global role that has the System administration global permission.

Steps

  1. Open an asset type.
  2. In the tab pane, click Global Assignment. the name of the assignment.
  3. In the tab pane, click Domain Types.
A table containing all the domain types assigned to the asset type is shown.
  4. Above the table, to the right, click EditEdit Model.
  5. Select the checkboxes next to the domain types you want to assign to the asset type.
Tip To unassign a domain type from the asset type, clear the checkbox next to the domain type. Once unassigned, the asset type no longer appears in filters for asset views in domains of that domain type or their communities.

  6. Click Save.
