Create a data issue

When you create a new data issue, the Issue Management workflow is triggered. The workflow behavior varies per company.

Before you begin

Ensure that the workflows outlined in Packaged metamodel for the Data Helpdesk are enabled and up-to-date on your Collibra platform. If they are not available or are not the latest versions, download them from Product Resources and deploy them on your platform.

Steps

  1. On the main toolbar, click .
    The Create dialog box appears.
  2. In the Create dialog box, click the Actions tab.
  3. Click Issue Creation.

    If you don't see Issue Creation, you have to add the Issue Creation workflow to the global create. For additional details, see I don't see a workflow in the global create.
  4. Enter the required information in the Log Issue dialog box.
    • Title (mandatory): The name and a short descriptive title for the issue.
    • Description (mandatory): A full description to explain the details of the issue.
    • Priority: The priority of the issue. The possible values, listed in order of importance from high to low, are:
      • Blocking
      • Critical
      • Urgent
      • Normal
      • Minor
    • Responsible Community: The community that is, according to you, responsible for solving the issue. By default, this is the Data Governance Council community, which is responsible for taking in all new types of assets and assigning them to the right community.
    • Relevant Assets: The asset, or assets, that are impacted by the issue. When you start typing in this field, suggestions appear. Click a suggestion to add the asset to the issue. You can add multiple relevant assets.
    • Issue Classification: The Issue Category asset, or assets, that best describe your issue. When you start typing in this field, suggestions appear. Click a suggestion to add the asset to the issue. You can add multiple relevant assets.
  5. Click Create Issue.

What's next?

The data issue is created and the Issue Management workflow starts automatically. On the Diagram page of the created Data Issue asset page, you can find the assets that are related to the issue.
