Create a data issue

When you create a new data issue, the Issue Management workflow is triggered. The workflow behavior varies per organization.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the workflows outlined in Data Helpdesk operating model are enabled and up-to-date. If they aren't available or are'nt the latest versions, download them from Product Resources and deploy them.

Steps

  1. On the main toolbar, click Plus icon.
    The Create dialog box appears.
  2. In the Create dialog box, click the Actions tab.
  3. Click Issue Creation.
    Tip If you can't find Issue Creation, you need to add the Issue Creation workflow to the global create menu. For more information, go to I don't see a workflow in the global create.
  4. In the Log Issue dialog box, enter the required information.
    FieldDescription
    TitleThe name and a short descriptive title for the issue.
    DescriptionA full description to explain the details of the issue.
    Priority

    The priority of the issue. The possible values, listed in order of importance from high to low, are:

    • Blocking
    • Critical
    • Urgent
    • Normal
    • Minor
    Responsible CommunityThe community that is, according to you, responsible for solving the issue. By default, this is the Data Governance Council community, which is responsible for taking in all new types of assets and assigning them to the right community.
    Relevant AssetsThe asset or assets that are impacted by the issue. When you start typing in this field, suggestions appear. Click a suggestion to add the asset to the issue. You can add multiple relevant assets.
    Issue ClassificationThe Issue Category asset, or assets, that best describe your issue. When you start typing in this field, suggestions appear. Click a suggestion to add the asset to the issue. You can add multiple relevant assets.
  5. Click Create Issue.

What's next

The data issue is created and the Issue Management workflow starts automatically. On the Diagram page of the created Data Issue asset page, you can find the assets that are related to the issue.
