Edit a dashboard

Important 

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

You can edit the name, description, and layout of a dashboard by using the toolbar on the dashboard. If the Dashboard Ordering (beta) setting is enabled, you can also edit the name, description, owner, or sharing rules by using the Manage All Dashboards dialog box opened from the dashboard navigation panel.

Prerequisites

  • To manage your own dashboards: You have a global role with the Manage Your Own Views, Dashboards, Search Filters global permission.
  • To manage another user's dashboards: You have a global role with the Manage Shared Views, Dashboards, Search Filters global permission.
  • To use the dashboard navigation panel:

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit propertiesDashboard.
  3. Enter the required information.
    FieldDescription
    NameA name to identify your dashboard.
    Description

    A description for the dashboard.

    Layout

    The number of columns to be shown in the dashboard.

    Pin

    Select this checkbox if you want to pin the dashboard.

    Tip A dashboard bar shows up to 5 pinned dashboards in alphabetical order. For details, go to Open a dashboard with the homepage disabled.

  4. Click Save.
  • Edit a dashboard from the dashboard when the Dashboard Ordering (beta) setting is not enabled:
    1. Open the dashboard.
    2. Click Edit propertiesDashboard.
    3. Enter the required information.

      Description

      A description for the dashboard.

      Layout

      The number of columns to be shown in the dashboard.

      Pin

      Select this checkbox if you want to pin the dashboard.

    4. Click Save.
  • Edit a dashboard from the dashboard when the Dashboard Ordering (beta) setting is enabled:
    1. Open the dashboard.
    2. Click Edit.
    3. Enter the required information.

      Layout

    4. Click Save.
  • Edit a dashboard from the dashboard navigation panel:
    1. Open the dashboard.
    2. In the dashboard navigation panel, click .
      The Manage All Dashboards dialog box opens.
    3. Update any of the following fields for the dashboard:

      Description

      A description for the dashboard.

      Owner

      The owner of the dashboard. For more information, go to Change the owner of a dashboard (beta).

      Shared With

      The sharing rules for the dashboard. For more information, go to Share a dashboard.

    5. Click Close.
