Edit a dashboard

Important 

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

You can edit the name, description, and layout of a dashboard by using the toolbar on the dashboard. If the Dashboard Ordering setting in Collibra Console is enabled and you have the appropriate permissions, you can also edit the name, description, owner, and sharing rules of multiple dashboards by using the Manage Dashboards page in the dashboard navigation pane.

Prerequisites

  • To manage your own dashboards: You have a global role that has the Manage your own Views, Dashboards, Search filters global permission.
  • To manage another user's dashboards: You have a global role that has the Manage shared Views, Dashboard and Search Filter global permission.
  • To use the dashboard navigation pane:
    • Enable the Dashboard Ordering setting in Collibra Console.
    • You have a global role that has the Manage shared Views, Dashboard and Search Filter global permission.

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit propertiesDashboard.
  3. Enter the required information.
    FieldDescription
    NameA name to identify your dashboard.
    Description

    A description for the dashboard.

    Layout

    The number of columns to be shown in the dashboard.

    Pin

    Select this checkbox if you want to pin the dashboard.

    Tip A dashboard bar shows up to 5 pinned dashboards in alphabetical order. For more information, go to Open a dashboard with the homepage disabled.

  4. Click Save.

Edit a dashboard when the Dashboard Ordering setting is disabled

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit propertiesDashboard.
  3. Enter the required information.

    Description

    A description for the dashboard.

    Layout

    The number of columns to be shown in the dashboard.

    Pin

    Select this checkbox if you want to pin the dashboard.

  4. Click Save.

Edit a dashboard when the Dashboard Ordering setting is enabled

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Enter the required information.

    Layout

    The number of columns to be shown in the dashboard.

  4. Click Save.

Edit one or more dashboards from the dashboard navigation pane

  1. Open any dashboard.
  2. In the dashboard navigation pane, click Manage Dashboards.
    The Manage Dashboards page opens.
  3. Update any of the following fields for the dashboards.

    Dashboard A name to identify your dashboard.
    Description

    A description for the dashboard.

    Owner

    The owner of the dashboard. For more information, go to Change the owner of a dashboard.

    Shared With

    The sharing rules for the dashboard. For more information, go to Share a dashboard.
