Change the owner of a dashboard (beta)
Important This topic is applicable only to the latest UI.
You can change the owner of a dashboard from the dashboard. If the Dashboard Ordering (beta) setting is enabled and you have the appropriate permissions, you can also change the owners of multiple dashboards by using the dashboard navigation panel.
Prerequisites
- Enable the Dashboard Ordering (beta) setting.
- To change the owner of your own dashboards, you have one of the following:
- You have a global role with the Manage Shared Views, Dashboards, and Search Filters global permission.
- You have a global role with the Manage Your Own Views, Dashboards, Search Filters, and Share your own Views global permission.
- To change the owner of shared dashboards: You have a global role with the System Administration, Manage Shared Views, Dashboards, and Search Filters global permission.
Steps
- Change from a dashboard:
- Open a dashboard.
- Click Click → Change Owner.
The Change Owner dialog box opens. - In the Change Owner dialog box, select the new owner from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save.
- Change from the dashboard navigation panel:
- Open a dashboard.
- In the dashboard navigation panel, click Manage Dashboards.
The Manage Dashboards page opens. - In the Owner column, double click next to the current owner name for the dashboard you want to update.
The Change Owner dialog box opens. - In the Change Owner dialog box, select the new owner from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save.
