The Amazon S3 file system integration allows you to register Amazon S3 as a data source in Collibra and synchronize metadata. After the synchronization, the files and directories of Amazon S3 are represented in Collibra by specific asset types, such as Amazon S3 Bucket, Directory, File, Table, and Column. The assets retain their original names.
You can integrate Amazon S3 file systems via Edge or Jobserver.
Important considerations:
- Not all file types are fully supported.
- You can restrict the AWS regions to the Data Catalog that is allowed to connect. This step is recommended for efficient synchronization.
- If you integrate an Amazon S3 file system, you cannot profile or classify data. If you want to be able to profile and classify the data, go to Ways to work with Amazon S3.
