Data profiling of a table

Important

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

In a Table asset, all profiling information is shown in the Columns section, in the Summary tab page. For each column, you see by default:

  • Name
  • Data Type
  • Row Count
  • Empty Values Count
  • Number of Distinct Values
  • Descriptive Statistics: this column shows an icon. Clicking the icon opens the Descriptive Statistics dialog box with metadata, profiling information and profiling charts for the column, if available.

Tip You can also open the Descriptive Statistics dialog box by clicking the chart icon located next to the column name on the Sample Data tab.

For information about these columns and columns that you can add, go to Data profiling information.

To add more columns, click and then click Select fields.

You can switch to tiles by clicking the Display as a tiles icon ().

The location of the data profiling information of a Table asset depends on the Catalog experience setting.

  • If the setting is enabled, the information is displayed in Columns tab page.
  • If Catalog experience is not enabled, the Data Profiling tab page displays the information.

The following profiling information is available by default:

  • Name
  • Data Type
  • Row Count
  • Empty Values Count
  • Number of distinct values
  • Chart

For information about these columns and columns that you can add, go to Data profiling information.

You can customize the table by clicking the Display options icon ().
For example, to add more columns, click Fields and then click Select fields.
