Certifying reports

The aim of report certification is to instill greater confidence in your decision-support data and improve productivity for knowledge workers, managers, report developers and data governance professionals.

The following criteria determine the certification level of a report:

  • The Owner and Business Steward responsibilities are assigned.
  • The report has a well-written definition.
  • The report is comprised of certified metrics.
  • Lineage is confirmed between the source columns and the data attributes.
  • The report has passed the data quality check on its source systems.

Note The Certify Report workflow is configured to work with the Tableau Workbook asset type. Throughout this guide, the word "report" refers specifically to published (not embedded) Tableau Workbook assets.

Tip The shopping for data feature helps you find reports in your Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud environment. You can use this feature to find candidate reports for certification, as a complement to your approach to prioritizing reports.
