About the Help menu

The Help menu in the main toolbar provides data consumers, data stewards, and admins with links to helpful resources, such as What's New information, Collibra University, Collibra Product documentation, Collibra Support portal, and more.

The Help menu can contain up to 10 menu items.

Note With the migration to 2026.03, the Help menu items defined through Console were copied to this Settings page. As a result, more than 10 menu items may be available.

A menu item can be a system menu item or a custom menu item. Collibra provides system menu items. Admins create custom menu items.

As an admin, you define which menu items are available. You can:

Steps

  1. On the main toolbar, click Products iconCogwheel icon Settings.
    The Settings page opens.
  2. In the General section, click Customizations.
    The Customizations page opens.
  3. Click Help menu.
    A list of the Help menu items opens.
    System menu items are marked with a lock icon and can't be deleted. However, you can hide them or make them available only to specific global roles.
  4. Do one or more of the following:
    • To create a new menu item:

      1. Navigate to the end of the page and click Add item.
        If the button is not available, you have reached the maximum number of menu items, which is 10.
        A new Link name menu item appears.
      2. Complete the fields as follows:
        FieldDescription
        NameThe Help menu item name. This name appears in the Help menu.
        LinkThe URL to the helpful resource.
        Global roles(Optional) Select the global roles for which the menu item must be available. If you don't add any global roles, the menu item is shown to all users.
      3. Make sure the menu item is enabled.
    • To edit a menu item:

      1. Navigate to the menu item you want to change.
      2. If you want to change the name, URL, or global role for the menu item, click the Expand icon to view the details and change the fields as needed.
        For system menu items, you can change only the global roles.
      3. If you want to hide the menu item, switch the menu item off.
    • To delete a menu item:

      1. Navigate to the menu item you want to delete.
      2. Click the Delete icon.
        You can't delete system menu items.
    • To change the order of the menu items, drag each menu item to the required location.

  5. Click Save.
    The customizations are immediately applied to the latest UI. They are not available in the classic UI.
    You can verify the menu items by clicking the Help icon in the main toolbar.
