About Google Dataplex Universal Catalog integration via Edge

Knowledge Catalog (formerly Google Dataplex Universal Catalog) is a technical catalog from Google that provides information for data in the various Dataplex projects. The Dataplex Universal Catalog integration provides a unified view of the metadata across all your Dataplex projects in Collibra Platform.

Collibra offers two Dataplex integration types:

Google Dataplex Universal Catalog integration
Google Dataplex ingestion

The Google Dataplex Universal Catalog integration is based on the Dataplex Universal Catalog and results in assets that also represent Views, Entries, and Aspects. For information about Dataplex Universal Catalog, go to the Google documentation.

Important

Currently, only assets that belong to the BigQuery Entry Group in Dataplex are ingested.
When you integrate the metadata, you can also profile and classify the data, and request the sample data without registering a BigQuery data source via the BigQuery JDBC driver. This feature is in preview.
