Enable or disable the Lifecycle management feature

The Lifecycle management feature is available for all asset types (in preview). It's enabled by default for the following asset types. For all other asset types, it is disabled by default.

Lifecycle management for all asset types is part of the Advanced Operating Module. This topic describes what that means for your Collibra environment and how to enable the feature.

Availability

Lifecycle management for all asset types is currently in public preview as of the 2026.06 release.

Note Lifecycle management was previously available only for AI-related asset types. The 2026.06 release extends the feature to all asset types. For information specific to AI-related asset types, go to Lifecycle management for AI Command Center or Lifecycle management for AI Governance.

Plan requirement

Lifecycle management for all asset types requires the Advanced Operating Module. To verify whether your Collibra environment includes this module, contact your Collibra account representative.

Enabling Lifecycle management globally

In addition to enabling Lifecycle management per asset type in the operating model, there is a global setting in Collibra Settings that controls whether Lifecycle management is available across your environment. The global setting and the per-asset-type toggle work together as follows:

Note AI Command Center asset types have Lifecycle management enabled by default (except AI Base Model). This default behavior is preserved regardless of whether the global setting was previously off.

For information on enabling or disabling Lifecycle management for a specific asset type, go to Configure the lifecycle stages for an asset type.
