Create or update an Agent Contract
Important Agent Contracts are available in private preview. The steps in this topic are based on an early build and are subject to change before general availability.
Agent Contracts are authored and updated using an AI assistant, not through a form in the AI Command Center interface. A Guardian contract skill, hosted by Collibra and reached through the Collibra MCP connection, asks you questions and can accept uploaded policy documents to derive agent contract rules.
Prerequisites
- The AI Agent contracts option is switched on in Settings.
- To create an Agent Contract, you have a global role with the AI Governance > Register Agent Contract global permission, such as the AI Business User global role. When you create an Agent Contract, you're automatically assigned the Owner resource role on it.
- To update an existing Agent Contract, you have a resource role with the Asset > Update resource permission on it, such as the Owner resource role. For details on both permissions, go to AI Command Center roles and permissions. TBC - confirm the role assignment against a live build (DOC-18301). The read and delete permissions for Agent Contracts aren't defined yet.
- Your AI assistant is connected to the Collibra MCP server. For setup instructions, go to Collibra MCP-compatible integrations and follow the links to one of the supported integrations, for example Connect Claude Desktop to the Collibra MCP.
For background information, go to About Collibra's MCP server.
Steps
- In the AI Command Center sidebar navigation, click Agent contracts.
- In the Editing instructions panel, click Copy to copy the agent prompt.
- Open your AI assistant and paste the prompt into the chat.
The assistant connects using the Collibra MCP connection, loads the Guardian contract skill, and starts asking questions about the rules you want the Agent Contract to include. - Answer the skill's questions, and upload any existing policy documents you want the skill to derive candidate rules from.
After you finish answering the questions, a new version of the Agent Contract is pushed to AI Command Center via MCP, and appears in the Agent Contracts table on the Agent contracts page.
