Attribute facets (in preview)

Important  This feature is available only in the latest UI.

You can make attributes and their values available as filter facets only for Data Marketplace in Search. Attribute facets don't affect standalone Data Marketplace.

Enable attribute facets

Prerequisites

You have the ADMIN or SUPER role in Collibra Console.

Steps

  1. Open the DGC service settings for editing:
    1. Open Collibra Console.
      Collibra Console opens with the Infrastructure page.
    2. In the tab pane, expand an environment to show its services.
    3. In the tab pane, click the Collibra Platform service of that environment.
    4. Click Configuration.
    5. Click Edit configuration.
  2. In the Search index configuration section, enable the Attribute filter facets setting.

    Attribute filter facets

    True: The Attribute facets tab becomes available on the Filter facets page in the Search settings. Attribute-based filter facets can then be created and made them available for Data Marketplace in Search.

    False (default): Attribute-based filter facets can't be created.

  3. Click Save all.

Create an attribute facet

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. On the main toolbar, click Products iconCogwheel icon Settings.
    The Settings page opens.
  2. In the Search section, click Filter facets.
    The Filter facets page opens.
  3. Click the Attribute facets tab.
  4. Click Add facet.
    The Select an Attribute drop-down list is shown.
  5. In the drop-down list, select the attribute you want to add as a facet.
    Tip The drop-down list contains attributes of only the following kind:
    • Boolean, meaning true or false.
    • Single value list, meaning single selection.
    • Text (plain), meaning plain text. Rich text attributes aren't available.
  6. Click Save.
    The attribute facet is added.
  7. Make the filter facet available in Data Marketplace in Search:
    1. Click the All facets tab.
    2. Optional: Double-click the Filter name cell of the attribute facet, enter the new name, and then click the checkmark.
      Tip Filter name is shown in the facet pane on the search page for users. By default, the public ID of the attribute type is used as the filter name and filter ID.
    3. Double-click the Visibility cell of the attribute facet, and then select Yes.
    4. Click Save.
      Tip For more information about the All facets tab, go to Configure the filter facets in Data Marketplace.

If the attribute facet contains values for a search, the facet is shown in the facet pane on the search page for the Data Marketplace search tabs.
