Create a resource role

You can create a new resource role. For example, you can do this if the out-of-the-box roles don't meet your specific needs.

Requirements and permissions

You have a global role with the Product Rights > System administration global permission.

Steps

1. On the main toolbar, click → Settings.
   The Settings page opens.
2. Click Roles and Permissions.
   The roles and permissions settings appear on the Global Roles tab page.
3. In the tab pane, click Resource Roles.
   The overview of resource roles appears.
4. Above the table, to the right, click Add.
   The Create Roles dialog box appears.
5. Enter one or more role names.
   
6. Click Submit.

What's next

• As new resource roles are created with no resource permissions included, you have to add them for the new resource role.
• Add a responsibility to assign users to the roles for a resource.
