Notifications admin settings

Notifications are messages about actions or information in the platform and are sent via email, the Notification Center, in-app notifications, or messaging integrations, like Slack or Teams. Admins can define global default email settings in notification settings to ensure users receive critical information in a timely manner.

Note These settings only apply to notifications that are available in the Notification service. The list of available notifications can be found in About notifications. Notifications that are sent via the legacy email service can't be disabled or modified.

As a Collibra admin, you can:

  • Set default configurations for email notifications for all users. You can allow users to override these defaults for their personal preferences. If you don't want them to override these configurations, switch off the Allow user overrides toggle.
Note These settings only impact email notifications. Notifications are always received in the Notification Center, and any messaging service, such as Slack or Teams, the user has connected.
  • Deactivate notifications in the platform. This can be useful during a testing or backup/restore event. To do this, click Disable notifications at the top of the page. While notifications are deactivated, they will not be sent via email, notification center, Slack, or Teams. The system does not send missed notifications after you reactivate them.
