Tasks and Issues widget

Important

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

The To DoTasks and Issues widget enables you to show an overview of open tasks and issues. On the widget, you can click the Tasks and Issues tabs to switch between tasks and issues.

On the Tasks tab:

  • Click the Sort By list in the drop-down list to sort the open tasks by their name, due date, and associated asset.
  • Click Show All to see either all open tasks or the open tasks assigned to you, depending on the widget configuration.

On the Issues tab:

  • Click the Sort By list in the drop-down list to sort the open issues by their name and creator.
  • Click Show AllGo to Data Helpdesk Page to see either all open issues or the open issues you created, depending on the widget configuration.

Tip  If several tasks or issues are shown on the widget, you can vertically resize the widget to show more items, eliminating the need for excessive scrolling. To resize the widget, use the bi-directional arrow, which is shown on the widget when you click Edit widgets on the dashboard.

Note Open issues do not include issues in the following statuses:
  • Resolved
  • Invalid
  • Obsolete
  • Disabled

You cannot edit this list.

Configure the To DoTasks and Issues widget

Before you begin

  • To manage your own dashboard: You have a global role that has the following global permission: Manage Your Own Views, Dashboards, Search Filters
  • To manage another user's dashboard: You have a global role that has the following global permission: Manage Shared Views, Dashboards, Search Filters

Steps

  1. Open the widget for configuration.
  2. Enter the required information.

    Tasks

    Show Tasks

    • True: Shows open tasks on the widget. If you select this checkbox, select one of the following options:
      • All Tasks: Shows all open tasks.
      • My Tasks: Shows only the open tasks that are assigned to the signed-in user.
    • False: Does not show any tasks on the widget.

    Tip Remember your selection because you can use this information in the next step, when you edit the title and description on the Widget tab.

    Tasks

    Show maximum

    • True: Limits the number of tasks shown on the widget.
      In this case, select the maximum number of tasks that can be shown.
    • False: Does not limit the number of tasks shown on the widget.
    TasksMaximum Number of TasksSelect the maximum number of tasks you want to show on the widget.

    Issues

     

     

    Show Issues

    • True: Shows open issues on the widget. If you select this checkbox, select one of the following options:
      • All Issues: Shows all open issues.
      • Issues Created by User: Shows only the open issues that the signed-in user created.
    • False: Does not show any issues on the widget.

    Tip Remember your selection because you can use this information in the next step, when you edit the title and description on the Widget tab.

    Issues

    Show maximum

    • True: Limits the number of issues shown on the widget.
      In this case, select the maximum number of issues that can be shown.
    • False: Does not limit the number of issues shown on the widget.
    IssuesMaximum Number of IssuesSelect the maximum number of issues you want to show on the widget.
  3. On the Widget tab, enter the required information.
  4. On the widget, click Save.
  5. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Close & save editsSave.
