Add the ThoughtSpot synchronization capability

You can add the ThoughtSpot synchronization capability to an Edge or Collibra Cloud site to enable metadata synchronization between ThoughtSpot and Collibra.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the requirements are met in both the Collibra and ThoughtSpot environments.

In your Collibra environment

• You have created a connection to ThoughtSpot in your Edge or Collibra Cloud site.
• You have a global role that has the Manage connections and capabilities global permission, for example, Edge integration engineer.
• You have a global role with the Catalog global permission, for example, Catalog Author.
• You have a resource role with the Configure external system resource permission, for example, Owner.

In your ThoughtSpot environment

• You have identified the ThoughtSpot Orgs you plan to synchronize if filtering is required.
• You have verified that the credentials used in the connection have the necessary API permissions for the target content.

Steps

1. Open a site.
   1. On the main toolbar, click → Settings.
      The Settings page opens.
   2. In the tab pane, click Edge.
      The Sites tab opens and shows a table with an overview of your sites.
   3. In the table, click the name of the site whose status is Healthy.
      The site page opens.
2. In the Capabilities section, click Add capability.
   The Add capability page appears.
3. Select the Thoughtspot Synchronization) capability template.
4. Enter the required information.

   Property	Use this section to define custom parameters for technical lineage. Click Add property to add a parameter.    Save Input Metadata	Select this option to save the input metadata extracted from the data source in ZIP files. The ZIP file contains all raw data fetched from the data source and lineage files, including data for which lineage objects are not created. The files can be useful for troubleshooting. Do not select this option unless Collibra Support requests it. Enabling this option increases synchronization time and can increase the risk of a failed synchronization. If this option is selected, you can download the files from the Synchronization Results dialog box once the synchronization is completed. The files are available for 8 hours after the synchronization completes. If more than 8 hours have passed, run the synchronization again and download the file from that new run instead.	No

5. Click Add.
   The capability is added to the Edge or Collibra Cloud site.
   The fields become read-only.
