Add data to a data set from the Catalog Data Sources or Data Dictionary page

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:
You can add assets to a data set from the Data Sources or Data Dictionary pages in Data Catalog.
Prerequisites
- The Add to Data Set action has been enabled.
- You have a global role with the Catalog global permission, for example, Catalog Author.
- To see the option in the Data Dictionary page: You have a global role with the Data Dictionary global permission, for example Data Dictionary.
- You have a resource role with the Asset > Attribute > Add resource permission.
- To create a new data set, you have a resource role with the Asset > Add resource permission on the New Data Sets domain (Domain ID: 00000000-0000-0000-0001-000200000001).
Steps

On the main toolbar, click
, and then click
Catalog.
The Catalog Home opens. - In the submenu, click Data Sources or Data Dictionary.
- Select the checkboxes of the data assets you want to add to a specific data set.Tip
- Keep in mind that you can only add schemas, tables and columns.
- If necessary, change the filter to show the relevant data assets.
- Some data assets are nested. If you select the top one, all its children are added as well.
- Above the table, click Add to Data Set.
- Enter the required information in the Add Data to Data Set dialog box.
- Existing Data Set:
- Select the data set.
- Click Add to data set.
- New Data Set:
- Type a name in the Data set name field.
- Type a description in the Description field.
- Click Create & Add data.
