Create a collection

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

A collection in Collibra is a group of assets. You can create collections from the Collections page, an asset page, or an asset preview in Data Marketplace.

You can create up to 100 collections and add up to 200 assets to a single collection. This topic describes how to create a collection, including how to add assets to and remove assets from a collection.

Prerequisites

Data Marketplace is enabled.

Steps

From the Collections page

The following steps show how to create a collection from the Collections page.

  1. Click your avatar → Collections.
    The Collections page opens.
  2. Click New Collection.
    The Create Collection dialog box appears.
  3. Enter the required information.
    4. Field Description
    Name A name to identify the collection.
    Optional: Description A description for the collection.
  4. Click Save.
    The collection is created. You can add an asset to the collection from the asset page or Data Marketplace.

From an asset page

The following steps show how to add an asset to an existing collection from an asset page, and also how to create a new collection and add an asset to it at the same time.

  1. Open an asset page.
  2. Click .
    The Add to Collection option appears.
    Tip If the bookmark icon next to the Add to Collection option is filled, it indicates that the asset has already been added to a collection. To remove the asset from a collection, select the option, and then select the collection in the Add to Collection dialog box.
  3. Select the Add to Collection option.
    The Add to Collection dialog box appears.
  4. To add the asset to existing collections, select the collections.
    The asset is added to the collections.
  5. To create a new collection and add the asset to it, in the search box, enter a name to identify the new collection, and then press Enter.
    The collection is created and the asset is added to it.
Tip 
  • To remove the asset from a collection, in the Add to Collection dialog box, select the collection.
  • To view all your collections, click your avatar → Collections.

From Data Marketplace

The following steps show how to add an asset to an existing collection from Data Marketplace, and also how to create a new collection and add an asset to it at the same time.

  1. Go to the asset preview in Data Marketplace.
  2. Click .
    The Add to Collection dialog box appears.
  3. To add the asset to existing collections, select the collections.

    The asset is added to the collections.
  4. To create a new collection and add the asset to it, in the search box, enter a name to identify the new collection, and then press Enter.

    The collection is created and the asset is added to it.
    5. Tip 
    • To remove the asset from a collection, in the Add to Collection dialog box, select the collection.
    • To view all your collections, click your avatar → Collections.
