Move an asset type

Important 

In Collibra 2024.05, we launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

You can move an asset type to another parent asset type. However, the asset type may inherit the assignment of the new asset type, which may impact the possible characteristics, amongst others.

Note You can only move custom asset types. You cannot move out-of-the-box or system asset types.

Prerequisites

You have a global role that has the Product Rights > System administration global permission.

Move an asset type from the asset type table

  1. On the main toolbar, click Products iconCogwheel icon Settings.
    The Collibra settings page opens.
  2. Click Operating Model.
    The Operating Model settings page opens.
  3. In the row of the asset type that you want to move, click .
    The Select Parent Asset Type dialog box appears.
  4. Enter the required information.

  5. Click Save.

Move an asset type from the asset type page

  1. Open an asset type.
    1. On the main toolbar, click Products iconCogwheel icon Settings.
      The Collibra settings page opens.
    2. Click Operating Model.
      The Operating Model settings page opens.
    3. On the Asset types tab page, click the name of an asset type.

      The asset type page opens.

  2. In the upper, right corner, click Actions.
    A drop down menu appears.
  3. Click Move.
    The Move <asset type> dialog box appears.
  4. Above the table, to the right, click Move.
    The Select Parent Asset Type dialog box appears.
  5. Enter the required information.
