Delete an asset type

You can delete custom asset types, for example if you no longer need an asset type that you created earlier.

Note Certain asset types are managed by Collibra, and you cannot delete them. You can only delete custom asset types, but not system-managed ones.

Prerequisites

• You have a global role that has the Product Rights > System administration global permission.
• It is not an out-of-the-box asset type.
• There are no assets of that asset type. If assets of that asset type exist, either edit their asset type or delete them.

Steps

1. Open an asset type.
   1. On the main toolbar, click → Settings.
      The Collibra settings page opens.
   2. Click Operating Model.
      The Operating Model settings page opens.
   3. On the Asset types tab page, click the name of an asset type.

      The asset type page opens.

   Tip You can also open an asset type from an asset page by clicking the asset type in the upper-left corner of the asset page.

2. In the upper, right corner, click Actions.
   A drop down menu appears.
3. Click Delete.
   The Delete <asset type> dialog box appears.
4. In the row of the asset type that you want to delete, click .
   
   The Delete Asset Type dialog box appears
5. Click Delete.
6. Click Yes.
