Add activities to the Progress Tracker

The Progress Tracker allows you to add and monitor two different types of activities: assessments and decisions.

Tip If you add an activity and don't see it in the task table, increase the value of the Rows per page setting in the Progress Tracker or go to the last page of activities.

Requirements and permissions

  • To add an assessment, you need a global role that has the Assessments > Conduct Assessments global permission.
  • To add a decision record, you need the Asset > Progress Tracker > Decision Record resource permission for the community or domain in which the AI Use Case asset is stored.

If you don't have either of these permissions, the Add Activity button is not shown.

Add an assessment

When adding an assessment, you select a template to dictate the type of assessment to conduct. Only the latest version of an assessment template is available.

You can have multiple assessments of the same type ongoing, regardless of their statuses. Keep in mind that if responses were copied to the asset page from a previous assessment, they will be overwritten by a subsequent assessment of the same type, when it is approved. For more information, go to Mapping of copied assessment responses and asset characteristics.

Steps

  1. Click Add Activity.
  2. Select Assessment.
  3. In the Assessment Template drop-down list, select the template for the type of assessment you want to conduct.
  4. Click Add.
An assessment with the status Not Started is added to the Progress Tracker.

Add a decision record

Decision records allow you to capture any pertinent information regarding the decisions you and other stakeholders make about the AI use case.

Steps

  1. Click Add Activity.
  2. Select Decision Record.
  3. Enter the details of the decision you want to capture.
  4. Click Add.
A decision record with the status Complete is added to the Progress Tracker.

You can edit the decision records that you have added, but not those that others have added.

Tip You can add as many decision records as you want. Decision gates, on the other hand, are triggered when you change the lifecycle stage of an AI use case by clicking Move to <stage> in the Progress Tracker. For more information, go to:
