Set or reset a user password
You can set or reset the password of a user:
- From the user table.
- From the user's profile page.
Do this to reset your own password.
Note You can only reset the password of users that were created manually.
The default password requirements are outlined in the Password section of our Security configuration: options article.
Prerequisites
You have a global role that has the User Administration or System Administration global permission, for example, Sysadmin.
Set or reset a user password from the user table

On the main toolbar, click
, and then click
Settings.
The Collibra settings page opens. - Click Users and Subscriptions.
The Users tab page appears. - In the row of the user whose password you want to reset, click .
The Password Reset dialog box appears. - Choose how you want to reset the password.
Option Description Email a link to the user.
Send an email to the user and let the user set a new password.
Note The link to reset the password is by default valid for 60 minutes. You can edit the length of the validity in Collibra Console.
Specify a new password.
Set a password yourself.
- Click Reset Password.
Set or reset a user password from the user profile page
- Click your avatar, then Profile.
Your profile page appears. - In the upper, right corner, click Reset Password.
An email is sent to the user to let the user set a new password.Note The link to reset the password is by default valid for 60 minutes. You can edit the length of the validity in Collibra Console.
