Edit a resource role

You can edit a resource role. You can do so, for example, if you want to edit the name or the description of a role.

Note Do not confuse this with adding or removing resource permissions.

Requirements and permissions

You have a global role that has the Product Rights > System administration global permission.

Steps

  1. On the main toolbar, click Products icon → Cogwheel icon Settings.
    The Settings page opens.
  2. Click Roles and Permissions.
    The roles and permissions settings appear on the Global Roles tab page.
  3. In the tab pane, click Resource Roles.
    The overview of resource roles appears.
  4. Double-click a cell to edit the Name or the Description of the role.

If you have the latest UI enabled, you can also disable roles that you do not use and that are not currently assigned to any resources from the Actions column. Disabled roles do not appear in resource role selection lists, for example when adding or requesting a responsibility. Regardless of UI, you can use the disabled parameter of the REST Core API v2 /roles endpoint to control the status of resource roles.
