Release information

  • Release date of 5.7.9: May 31, 2021

Highlights

This scheduled maintenance includes fixes and minor improvements, as well as the below capabilities:

  • Impala is now available on Marketplace as a certified Catalog connector.
  • The Classification Dashboard introduces a new interface through which users can evaluate and understand their current classification infrastructure. The Classification Dashboard lists all available data classes, shows the performance metrics of used data classes and enables you to add, delete or merge data classes.
    .

New features

Data Catalog

  • You can now use public APIs to classify Schema, Database and Table assets and assign them to specific columns. This allows you to more easily integrate Automatic Data Classification with external data classification sources.
  • You can now use the Classification Dashboard to view performance metrics and add data classes.
  • Impala is now available on Marketplace as a certified Catalog connector.

Data Governance

  • You can now configure security headers for your Collibra Data Governance Center.
  • You can now use the Migration feature to migrate workflows that include Flowable forms.
  • You can now choose more precisely which asset views, diagram views, dashboards and search filters you want to migrate.

Data Privacy

  • Collibra Assessments, a browser-based feature that integrates with your Collibra Data Governance Center environment. Here are a few highlights:
    • Packaged templates, including those for DPIA and PIA, that you can use “as is” or customize to accommodate both your privacy-related needs and those beyond the scope of data privacy.
    • Fully configurable question types, properties and logic, to build dynamic assessments that evolve based on user responses.
    • A single view on all conducted assessments, where you can edit, review and approve or reject assessments.
    • The Assessments workflow, a new out-of-the-box workflow.
  • When working with an assessment template, a Governance option now allows you to specify whether or not an assessment conducted from the template will result in the creation of an Assessment Review asset and trigger the Assessments workflow.

(Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Desktop)

  • If the name of a diagram picture is too long to show in the Diagrams table, you can now hover over the name to see the full name.
  • The Collibra environment you are connected to is now shown in the user menu, as well as in the About section.
  • You can now configure notification message that is shown before you sign in to the app, for example to notify the user that they are using governmental property.
  • You can now follow hyperlinks within (Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Desktop) if you enable auto hyperlinking in the "Everywhere Desktop configuration" section in Collibra Console.

(Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Mobile)

  • You can now configure a session timeout for (Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Mobile), which will automatically sign out users from the app after a certain period of inactivity.
  • You can now complete workflow tasks such as reviewing an asset or voting for an asset.
  • You can start workflows such as proposing a new business term or asking a question to an expert. It is possible that complex workflows, for example a workflow with multiple step forms, won't work.
  • You can now set up workflows in (Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Mobile) via Collibra Console.

Enhancements

Data Catalog

  • In the Physical Data Connector, schemas, tables, and columns are now sorted alphabetically.
  • You can now trigger classifications at the higher schema and database level to more easily integrate Collibra Automatic Data Classification with external data classification sources.
  • Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud now supports Tableau version 2021.01.
  • Data profiling of MSSQL data sources using push down sampling is now faster.

Collibra Data Governance

  • Resizing a column of a table no longer reloads the page.
  • View tables are now paginated with 50 rows per page and you can use a quickfilter on the Name column.
  • The output module now supports YAML format.
  • The metamodel of Power BI has been improved.
  • The metamodel of Power BI Reporting Service has been added.
  • The metamodel of SQL Server Reporting Services has been added.

Diagrams

  • Dynamic filtering by Business Qualifier is now promoted from beta feature to general availability.

Data Privacy and Workflows

  • When submitting an assessment, when you select a domain for the creation of the new Assessment Review asset, more helpful messaging is now shown if you either don’t have the necessary permissions to create the asset, the target domain does not have the necessary responsibilities, or both.
  • Assessments audit-trail information now includes the user ID, username and avatar of all users who create, update and submit assessments. A “Last updated by” column, which shows the username and avatar, has also been added to the table of assessments on the landing page.
  • You can now download a PDF of any assessment, regardless of its status. The PDF captures all of the information shown on the assessment details page.
  • You can now copy an assessment. This creates a new assessment with the Draft status and new audit trail information. An assessment cannot be copied if the template used has been deleted.
  • You can now delete an assessment. If the assessment has a related asset in your Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud environment, the assessment is not deleted, rather the status becomes Obsolete.
  • You can now delete any of your customized templates. Any assessments in draft that were started using a deleted template will not be affected; you can complete the assessment and submit it when you're ready. You cannot, however, copy an assessment that used a deleted template.
  • The questions in the DPIA and PIA threshold assessment templates have been edited and regrouped, for clarity.

Shop4Data

  • If a search filter was configured with a field that is no longer available, the invalid field is now highlighted, so that you can easily identify it and delete it from the search filter. Invalid fields are now ignored during search queries. (ticket #49346)

(Undefined variable: CollibraProducts.Collibra4Mobile)

  • You can now tap an image to expand or collapse an image.
  • Relations on an asset page are now paginated.

Collibra Console

  • The "Consumer service URL" option in the DGC service configuration is now renamed to "Service Provider Entity ID" to avoid confusion with the "Entity ID" option and to better indicate that its value is used as Entity ID in the SAML metadata returned by Collibra.
  • The "Audience" in the SAML Response is now correctly validated against the Service Provider Entity ID. The configured value of the Service Provider Entity ID must be exactly the same in Collibra Console and in your IDP.
    Warning

API

  • When you export a Multiple Selection Attribute type to JSON using the output module, the value now follows the industry-standard rules for quotes and escape characters:
    • The value is only contained in quotes if there is a quote or separator character in the value.
    • Any quote inside the value is escaped by a quote.

Fixes

Data Catalog

  • The Summary tab page now shows the breadcrumbs of assets ingested via a CSV file correctly when you zoom in.
  • You can now successfully delete a Data Set asset when Catalog Experience is enabled. (ticket #59810)
  • Tableau 2021.02 or newer synchronization now fails when the Metadata API Store in Tableau is rebuilding. This prevents data loss in Data Catalog.

  • You can now define Advanced Data Type patterns with up to 2000 characters. (ticket #61968)
  • When you synchronize Tableau, the relation type "Report Attribute is source for / is target of Report Attribute" between Tableau Report Attributes is now created correctly. (Ticket #62424)

  • The Migration feature now takes the order of articulation rules into account when importing a CMA file.
