5.7.8

The content of this section is only applicable for on-premises Collibra Data Governance Center environments. For the release notes of Collibra Platform, see Release notes for Collibra Platform.

New features

Collibra Console

  • Collibra DGC now supports encrypted SAML responses. Collibra DGC provides the encryption certificate to be used by your Identity Provider.

Collibra Data Catalog

  • Looker Look asset pages now has a technical lineage tab page.
  • Greenplum is now available on Marketplace as a certified Catalog connector.
  • Apache Kafka is now available on Marketplace as a certified Catalog connector. The Apache Kafka connector only supports metadata ingestion without profiling and classification.
  • You can now use a public API to register a data source or refresh a schema.
  • You can now use guided stewardship. Guided Stewardship is a set of features designed to help Data Stewards in client organizations establish reliable and fully-connected data structures within their Collibra DGC environment. It does so by simplifying the process of creating connections between physical data assets and their associated logical and conceptual (business) assets within Collibra DGC. With this first release of Guided Stewardship, users can now use the Physical Data Connector to manually add data classes to Column assets and connect the physical data layer to the logical data layer. For more information, see its demo.
  • Presto is now available on Marketplace as a certified Data Catalog connector.
  • MariaDB is now available on Marketplace as a certified Data Catalog connector.

Collibra Data Governance

  • You can now print an asset page to a PDF file.
  • You can now use the new asset type "Business Qualifier" to represent the different business qualifiers that apply to a set of assets.
  • You no longer see the global create button if you don't have the resource permissions to create assets or start a global workflow.
  • You can now obtain the Comments hierarchy via the output module.
  • You can now export a CSV file containing the user table, including the last login time from the Users page in the DGC Settings.

Diagrams

  • In the JSON text editor for diagram views, you can now specify the maximum flow depth, meaning the flow relation path length from the start flow node to any other flow node. This reduces diagram size and improves readability and performance. You can specify a system-wide default maximum flow depth in Collibra Console.

Search

  • Improved ordering of search results, as the search engine now takes into account partial exact matching of the search text in the Name field.

Data Privacy and Workflows

  • Collibra Assessments, a browser-based feature that integrates with your Collibra Platform environment. Here are a few highlights:
    • Out-of-the-box templates, including those for DPIA and PIA, that you can use “as is” or customize to accommodate both your privacy-related needs and those beyond the scope of data privacy.
    • Fully configurable question types, properties and logic, to build dynamic assessments that evolve based on user responses.
    • A single view on all conducted assessments, where you can edit, review and approve or reject assessments.
    • The Assessments workflow, a new out-of-the-box workflow.
Note We are aware of some compatibility issues with Microsoft Internet Explorer and we are working to resolve them.
  • A Business Process Management workflow is now available with improved user experience for onboarding Business Process assets.

Collibra for Desktop

  • Asset diagram pictures are now available in Collibra for Desktop. These pictures allow a better understanding of the asset's context. You will also have a direct link to open the corresponding diagram in Collibra DGC.
  • You can now complete workflow tasks such as reviewing an asset or voting for an asset.
  • You can also start workflows such as proposing a new business term or asking a question to an expert. It is possible that complex workflows, for example a workflow with multiple step forms, won't work.
  • You can now configure a session timeout for Collibra for Desktop, which will automatically sign out users from the app after a certain period of inactivity.
  • If your organization has more than one Collibra environment, you can now easily switch between them.

Collibra for Mobile

  • When you sign in with a username and password, you can now use Touch ID and Face ID to sign in to Collibra for Mobile.
  • You can now configure a default browser via your mobile device management software. The default browser is used to sign in to the app. If the browser that is specified as the default is not installed on your device, an error message is shown and you are unable to sign in to the app. (ticket #57109)
  • You can now configure notification message that is shown before you sign in to the app, for example to notify the user that they are using governmental property.

Enhancements

Collibra Console

  • You can now provide your own encryption key to encrypt the communication between a Jobserver and your Collibra DGC environment. This requires an upgrade of both your Collibra DGC environment and your on-premises Jobserver.
  • You can now configure the SAML Entity ID separately in Collibra Console.

Collibra Data Catalog

  • You can now use push down sampling for Exasol.
  • If you upgraded to Tableau 2020.02 or newer, you can now synchronize your Tableau Server without losing manually added characteristics, tags, comments and stitching results.
  • The logs of the Jobserver are now improved.
  • Collibra Data Intelligence cloud now uses native sampling if you enable push down sampling for Databricks.
  • The Physical Data Connector now supports pagination of displayed physical data on all levels of the physical data hierarchy. This update allows for the analysis of extremely large data sets in a more scalable way.

Collibra Data Governance

  • If you import an attribute type with allowed values via the Solution install mode of the Migration feature, allowed values from the CMA file are now added to the list of allowed values in the target environment.
  • All logged user actions now mention the session ID.
  • The loading time of the Migration export page has been improved.
  • When you now print an asset page, the responsibilities are also included.
  • When using Open API with basic authentication, only one session is created for the user, which improves performance and logging.
  • The assignment rules of the Tableau Workbook asset type have been improved. (ticket #53643)
  • The URL attribute type is now added to the global assignment of the Looker Query asset type.

Data Privacy and Workflows

  • Redesigned interaction with workflows. Workflow forms are now displayed in a sidebar instead of a dialog box.
  • You can now copy and paste the task URL in a new browser tab or window.
  • When you click a task in the task table, the target asset is now shown in the sidebar.

API

  • The API v1 deprecation statements no longer refer to a "next major release". Deprecation statements now refer to an API v2 alternative when available or are removed until such alternative is available. The deprecated calls are in a "deprecated and supported" status until a future deprecation and removal strategy is communicated.
  • Certain API endpoints are no longer deprecated.

Collibra for Desktop

  • You can now click the breadcrumbs for easier navigation in the app.:

Collibra for Mobile

  • Search queries are now only added to the list of recent searches if you open an asset from the results or you expand one of the search results.
  • In your search query, you can now enter an asset type to filter by that asset type.
  • Enter "Define <search term>" to search for the definition of the search term.
