Configure SMTP

This topic shows you how to configure an SMTP server from the Alerts page to allow Data Quality & Observability Classic to send alerts to recipients via email.

Prerequisites

  • You have the ROLE_ADMIN role.
  • You have an SMTP server available outside of Data Quality & Observability Classic.

Steps

  1. Sign in to Data Quality & Observability Classic and click Cogwheel icon in the left navigation pane.

  2. Click Admin Console.
  3. Click Alerts from the list, then Alert Configuration.
  4. The Alerts page opens.
  5. Enter the required information.
    FieldDescription
SMTP HostThe name or the IP address of the SMTP server.
SMTP PortThe port used by the SMTP server.
SMTP UsernameThe username or the account that is configured on the SMTP server for use.
SMTP PasswordThe password of the SMTP server username or account.
    To Email (Default)
    Reply EmailThe reply-to email address.
    Include Links

Links to the specific instance(s)/page(s) where the alert came from in the DQ alert email.

If you select this check box, the links to the specific instance(s)/page(s) where the alert came from display in the Collibra DQ alert email. This allows you to quickly access the environment(s), from which the alert originated.

Note When you enable the Include Links functionality, you must also paste in your host address (e.g., https://x.x.x.x) into the HOST_NAME value, found in the application configuration settings.

Important Be aware that some email servers, such as Microsoft Exchange, require the SMTP username and Reply email fields to be the same.

  6. Click Save.
