Create Okta connection

After configuring Okta permissions for Data Access, create a connection from an Edge or Collibra Cloud site to the Okta data source. This connection acts as a bridge between Data Access and your underlying data source.

Prerequisites

  • You have configured the data source permissions for Data Access.
  • You have a global role with the Edge > Manage connections and capabilities global permission, for example, Edge integration engineer.
  • You have an Edge site or a Collibra Cloud site whose status is Healthy and whose version is 2026.03.21-18 or newer.

Steps

  1. Open the Edge or Collibra Cloud site:
    1. On the main toolbar, click Products icon > Settings.
    2. On the Settings page, in the Edge section, click Sites, and then click the name of the site.
  2. Click Create Connection.
  3. In the Create Connection dialog box, select Okta.
  4. Enter the required information.
    FieldDescription
    NameA unique name for the Okta connection.
    Description (optional)

    A brief explanation of the connection's purpose.

    Vault (optional)A reference to a secure credential store from which the Okta token is retrieved.
    Okta Domain

    The full Okta domain to connect to (for example, mydomain.okta.com). You recorded this value when you configured the Okta permissions.

    Okta Token

    The secret Okta token to authenticate against the Okta domain. You recorded this value when you configured the Okta permissions.

  5. Click Create.
    The Okta connection is created.
