Steps overview: Integrate SAP Datasphere Catalog via Edge

This overview provides the sequential path to prepare your SAP Datasphere Catalog environment, and configure the connection and synchronize metadata in Collibra.

No. Step Description
1 Set up SAP Datasphere Catalog. Ensures you have all the information needed to configure SAP Datasphere Catalog and start the synchronization.
2

Create an SAP Datasphere Catalog connection.

Creates a connection to SAP Datasphere Catalog in an Edge or Collibra Cloud site.
3

Add the SAP Datasphere Catalog synchronization capability.

Adds the SAP Datasphere synchronization capability to the Edge connection. The capability allows you to retrieve data from SAP Datasphere Catalog.
4 Optionally, create one or more target domains for the assets that will be ingested.
When configuring the integration, you are required to select a default domain, and optionally, configure domain mappings. If you want to create new target domains for the ingested assets, consider the following:
  • If you are integrating SAP Analytics Cloud assets, you need a domain of the type BI Catalog.
  • If you are integrating SAP Datasphere assets, you need a domain of the type Technology Asset.
  • If you are integrating SAP Business Glossary terms, you need a domain of the type Glossary.

Collibra automatically creates a new domain per container, and any additional domains. For example, all SAP Datasphere assets (other than the SAP Tenant and SAP Datasphere Space) require a domain of the type Physical Data Dictionary. Collibra automatically creates those domains.

All the domains that Collibra creates are in the same community that contains the domain you select as the default domain.

5 Configure the integration and synchronize SAP Datasphere Catalog

Define what you want to integrate and where you want to ingest assets. You can manually synchronize the metadata or add a synchronization schedule.

Once the synchronization is completed, the metadata is integrated.
