The OpenAI integration helps you automatically catalog all OpenAI model families and individual model versions available through your OpenAI project.

You can configure Edge connections and capabilities without an active AI Governance license. However, AI Governance must be enabled to harvest AI model metadata, ingest corresponding AI assets in Data Catalog, and access the dashboards and features necessary to visualize and govern your AI landscape.

Important A separate Edge connection is required for each OpenAI project. OpenAI API keys are scoped to a single project, so a key issued in one project cannot access another. Create one connection per project, each using the API key for that specific project.
