Example: Manual classification

Important 

In Collibra 2024.05, we've launched a new user interface (UI) for Collibra Data Intelligence Platform! You can learn more about this latest UI in the UI overview.

Use the following options to see the documentation in the latest UI or in the previous, classic UI:

You know that a specific column contains email addresses. You want to manually add the data class, email, to this column.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Column asset.
  2. The Data Classification field is available in the At a Glance section.

    Tip To open the At a Glance section, click the information icon.

  3. In Data Classification, click the Data Classification field.
    A drop-down list with all possible data classes appears.
  4. Open the Data Profiling tab page.
  5. In Data Classification, click the Edit icon .
    A drop-down list with all possible data classes appears.
  6. Enter the name of the data class you want to add, for example, email.
  7. If the data class is available from the list, select the option.
    If the data class is not available in the list, press Enter, to create the data class.
  8. Click Save. Click outside the field.
    The Column asset has been manually classified as email.

    If the data class email didn't exist yet, it is now available for other Column assets.
