Upgrading to Collibra DGC 5.8.0

To upgrade to Collibra Data Governance Center 5.8.0, you need at least version 5.6.5 or newer.

Important 
  • When you upgrade to 5.8, characteristics of some Catalog-related assets are converted from rich-text format to plain-text format.
  • Collibra Connect 1.4.x and older are not compatible with Collibra DGC 5.6 or newer. Upgrade to Collibra Connect 1.5 or 2.0.

Overview upgrade scenarios to 5.8 version

There are two scenarios to upgrade to version 5.8.0:

  1. Upgrade a 5.6.5 or newer environment by installing 5.8.0 over the current version. See Install 5.8.0 over an old 5.x version.
  2. Upgrade to 5.8.0 by installing a new 5.8.0 environment and restoring a 5.6.5 backup. See Install 5.8.0 with an old 5.x backup.

Important If you want to upgrade a 5.5 version or older, first upgrade to 5.6.5 and then follow one of the scenarios.
