Insights FAQ

Can I use Insights Data Access on Azure or any other platform?

Insights Data Access is currently supported only on AWS or GCP. It is not available on Azure or other platforms. You can, however, use any software compatible with Parquet files to process the data or generate reports.

Can I generate Insights Data Access reports for any date range?

Daily snapshots are retained for a maximum of 31 days. After that period, only end-of-month reports will be available.

Do I need to pay to use Insights Data Access?

Yes. Insights Data Access is not a free, out-of-the-box product in your Collibra environment.

Can I pass multiple dates into the API?

Insights Data Access provides daily snapshots for the specified date, which means you can access data for only one specific day. These snapshots are a representation of how your Collibra environment appeared on that specific day. There is no data for weeks or months available to download.

Can I change the frequency rate or the refresh time?

No.

Why is there a difference in the count between Insights Data Access and Collibra Public API?

Insights Data Access is a snapshot of data from a specific point in time, whereas an API call provides real-time data. This could lead to a difference in the count. Other factors that could contribute to the difference include the following:

  • Asset types that can't be managed and viewed via the Asset Type Operating Model (for example, Complex Relations and Workflow Definitions) aren't included in Insights Data Access. Attributes, communities, domains, and relations of such assets are also not included.
  • Only responsibilities that are directly assigned at the asset level or domain level are included in Insights Data Access; inherited responsibilities from the community level are excluded.
