This release is only available for Collibra Platform. Features and enhancements that are marked with cloud-only will never become available for on-premises environments.

Generally available features

New features

  • Collibra now supports encrypted SAML responses. Collibra provides the encryption certificate to be used by your Identity Provider.

CollibraData Catalog

  • Looker Look asset pages now has a technical lineage tab page.
  • You can now use a public API to register a data source or refresh a schema.

Collibra Data Lineage

  • You can now create a technical lineage for IBM InfoSphere DataStage.

Collibra Integrations

Collibra Data Governance

  • You can now print an asset page to a PDF file.
  • You can now use the new asset type "Business Qualifier" to represent the different business qualifiers that apply to a set of assets.
  • You no longer see the global create button if you don't have the resource permissions to create assets or start a global workflow.
  • You can now obtain the Comments hierarchy via the output module.

Collibra Reports and Insights

  • Asset tags are now included in the Reporting Data Layer, enabling you to download tags information for reporting purposes.

Enhancements

CollibraData Catalog

  • You can now use push down sampling for Exasol.

Collibra Data Lineage

  • The lineage harvester now only prompts for passwords of data sources to which you connect instead of all data sources in the configuration file.
  • You can now provide Collibra and data source passwords to the lineage harvester at runtime without storing them locally. This enables you to use a password manager.
  • The Status page now shows an overview of log files per data source.
  • The lineage harvester now connects to different servers based on your geographical location and cloud provider. You have to change your firewall rules to include the new Collibra Data Lineage server's IP address, run the lineage harvester with a full-sync command and restart your DGC service in Collibra Console.

Collibra Data Governance

  • If you import an attribute type with allowed values via the Solution install mode of the Migration feature, allowed values from the CMA file are now added to the list of allowed values in the target environment.
  • All logged user actions now mention the session ID.

Data Privacy

  • The custom Business Process asset page definitions are now part of Collibra Platform; they are not included in the Data Privacy 2020.12 installation files.
Warning If you are installing or upgrading to Data Privacy 2020.12, we highly recommend that you first upgrade to Collibra Platform 2020.12. If you install or upgrade to Data Privacy 2020.12 on a Collibra Platform 2020.11 or older environment, you will not have the custom Business Process asset page definitions.

Collibra Reports and Insights

  • Collibra Insights Data Maturity Report now correctly accounts for assets with the status Accepted.
  • You can now use the out-of-the-box diagram view Catalog Lineage 2020.12 for traceability of Microsoft Power BI assets.

API

  • The API v1 deprecation statements no longer refer to a "next major release". Deprecation statements now refer to an API v2 alternative when available or are removed until such alternative is available. The deprecated calls are in a "deprecated and supported" status until a future deprecation and removal strategy is communicated.
  • Certain API endpoints are no longer deprecated.

Fixes

CollibraData Catalog

  • If you ingested Tableau version 2020.2 and renamed a Tableau Report asset, synchronizing Tableau no longer deletes and recreates the asset.
  • Tableau synchronization no longer fails when you open or reload the Configuration tab page on a Tableau Server asset page during the synchronization process. (ticket #56005)
  • The counter of the Data Basket now works properly when refreshed navigation is enabled.

Collibra Console

  • The Asset Grid Permission setting in the DGC service configuration is now marked with "Requires restart".
  • If an existing user has an invalid email address in LDAP, synchronizing now disables the user and user data is not updated.

Collibra Data Governance

  • When you export a large file, the progress bar now shows the current status. (ticket #54715, 54816, 54943, 54953, 55111, 55145, 55155, 55383, 55408, 55459, 55556)
  • Changing a user's license type from Author to Consumer no longer results in an error. (ticket #55372, 55659, 55737, 55739, 55822)
  • If you navigate to a domain via the breadcrumbs on an asset page, the domain page now loads correctly.
  • The users' avatars are now displayed correctly on the Responsibility tab page of an asset. (ticket #55626)
  • The Responsibility tab page of profile pages no longer shows an error if the user has responsibilities on resources for which they do not have view permissions. Such resources do not appear on the page.
  • If you delete an asset, you no longer get an error when you are redirected to the parent domain.
  • Fixed a cross-site scripting issue on the History tab pages to improve security.
  • You no longer see unsaved views on the Asset views tab page of the navigation browser.
  • If you edit a cell in a table view and scroll down before confirming your changes, you no longer loose your changes. (ticket #49253)
  • By default, asset tables with hierarchies now use the MEMORY_FRIENDLY calculation strategy for child queries, which improves the loading time.
  • A user that does not have the Catalog global permission but has the Data Dictionary global permission now sees the Data Dictonary in the application selector if refreshed navigation is enabled. (ticket #55661)
  • 400 HTTP errors no longer include a verbose error message and traceback to increase security. (ticket #54876)

Collibra integrations

  • If you use MANTA Technical Lineage for Collibra, synchronization no longer fails if you import multiple domains, then import over 32 000 assets in a domain and then delete that domain, all in the same import job. (ticket #50488)
