Adding Data Class and Sensitivity Labels

You can add Data Class and Sensitivity labels at the column-level on the Profile page. Collibra DQ can automatically detect the following types of PII:

  • EMAIL
  • PHONE
  • ZIP CODE
  • STATE CD
  • CREDIT CARD
  • GENDER
  • SSN
  • IP ADDRESS
  • EIN

Once Collibra DQ discovers a sensitive data type in a column, you can then add a Sensitivity Label to flag it as sensitive. You can also apply a Data Class label to a column to automatically create a Data Class rule against the column you select. You can then see your newly created Data Class rule on the Dataset Rules page.

Steps

  1. From the search bar at the top of the page, enter the name of a dataset, click it when it appears in the results, and then click Profile to the right of the search bar.
  2. The Profile page of your dataset opens.
  3. In either the Sensitive or Data Class column of the Profile table, click the + icon.
  4. The Add Data Class/Sensitivity modal appears.
  5. Enter the required information.
  6. Option Description
Dataset The name of your dataset.
Column The column to which the sensitivity or data class label will apply.
    Sensitivity

A dropdown menu of all available sensitivity labels in your Collibra DQ environment.

Tip Admin users can manage sensitivity labels from the Sensitive Labels Management page in the Admin Console.

    Data Class

A dropdown menu of all available data classes in your Collibra DQ environment.

Tip You can manage data class labels from the Data Classes page under the Rules tab.

  7. Click Save.

Note
If you remove a Data Class from a column on the Profile page, the Data Class rule created when you applied it is still considered an active rule. To remove the Data Class rule as well, go to the Dataset Rules page and delete it from the Actions dropdown menu. Furthermore, when you delete a Data Class rule from the Dataset Rules page, the Data Class label is still applied to the column on the Profile page.
