Link Snowflake to System asset

After adding the Snowflake data source to Data Access, optionally, link the data source to an existing System asset in Catalog. This allows Data Access to automatically map the data objects in the Snowflake data source (such as databases, schemas, tables, and columns) to the corresponding data assets in Catalog.

Prerequisites

  • You have added your data source to Data Access.
  • You have a global role with the Data Access > Manage Settings global permission.

Steps

  1. On the Data Access landing page, in the left pane, click RESOURCES > Data sources.
  2. On the Data Sources page, click the name of the Snowflake data source.
  3. On the data source page, in the upper-right corner of the header, click More icon > Link system asset.
  4. In the Link system asset dialog box, in the System asset field, select the System asset to which you want to link the data source, and then click Link.
    Data Access links the Snowflake data source to the selected System asset.
Tip To change the System asset, in the Details sidebar, point to the current value in the System asset field, and then click Edit icon.
