About the Jobserver service
Jobserver has reached End of Life on September 30, 2024, with Edge as the recommended replacement, offering enhanced security, improved performance, and compatibility with modern cloud-native architectures.
The Jobserver remains relevant for specific scenarios, particularly for Public Sector customers utilizing GovCloud or on-premises Collibra deployments. In these contexts, the Jobserver serves as an on-premises relay to:
- Facilitate secure data ingestion and profiling from various sources into Collibra.
- Enable communication between on-premises data infrastructure and Collibra cloud services.
- Manage local tasks within on-premises Collibra Data Governance Center environments.
For environments where the Jobserver is still applicable, proper configuration is essential to ensure secure and efficient communication between the Jobserver and the Collibra Platform. Key configuration tasks managed through Collibra Console include:
- Network settings: Configure network parameters to enable secure connectivity between the Jobserver and Collibra services.
- Authentication methods: Set up authentication mechanisms to ensure secure access.
- Certificate management: Manage certificates to establish secure communication channels.
- Performance tuning: Adjust Java Virtual Machine (JVM) parameters to optimize data ingestion and profiling jobs.
