About the Snowflake outbound integration
You can sync metadata from Collibra Platform to Snowflake. After you configured outbound mappings, Collibra pushes the metadata to Snowflake, making governed business context visible to data consumers working in Snowflake.
Outbound synchronization
You can define outbound mappings on the Metadata outbound tab of the Snowflake capability. Each mapping links a Collibra attribute to either a Snowflake tag key or the Snowflake COMMENT field for a given asset type. Outbound synchronization matches each Collibra asset to its Snowflake counterpart, using the Snowflake metadata already ingested into Collibra, and applies the attribute value as the value of the mapped property.
Outbound synchronization sends attribute changes for Schema, Table, Database View, Semantic View, and Column assets.
- Synchronization is incremental. It processes only the assets that changed in Collibra since the last run.
- When you add or change an attribute value in Collibra, the next synchronization adds or updates the matching property value in Snowflake.
- When you remove an attribute value in Collibra, the next synchronization removes the matching property value in Snowflake.
- You set up synchronization manually. After setup, it runs automatically every 5 minutes when there are outbound events to process.
