About the Snowflake Listings integration
A Snowflake Listing is a secure, governed package in Snowflake that bundles shared data with the business context required to use it: title, description, usage examples, terms, publication state, and target audience. Listings are the primary way in which data is shared in Snowflake Horizon.
When you integrate Snowflake Listings, you ingest the listing metadata from Snowflake into Collibra Platform. Each listing becomes:
- A Snowflake Listing asset, a child of a Data Product that holds the business metadata.
- A Data Product Port asset, derived from the Snowflake Share, which represents how consumers access the data.
A Snowflake Listing is also linked to the underlying Table and View assets already ingested through the Snowflake JDBC connection, so you can trace a data product to its physical assets.
- You can integrate Snowflake Listings only via Edge.
- To link a Snowflake Listing to the Tables and Views it shares, you must first ingest those objects using the Snowflake JDBC connector.
