Migrate an asset layout

Important  This feature is available only in the latest UI.

As an administrator, you can define and test an asset page layout in your development environment before migrating it to your production environment. This allows you to experiment with different layouts to find what works best for your organization, reducing rework and potential errors.

Prerequisites

You have a global role that has the Product Rights > System administration global permission.

Steps

For exporting

1. Add the appropriate characteristic types to the asset type.
2. Edit the asset page layout as needed.
3. On the main toolbar, click → Settings.
   The Settings page opens.
4. In the tab pane, click Migration → Export.
   The Migration Export page opens.
5. Select the assignment for which the layout was created.
6. Click Export.

For importing

1. On the main toolbar, click → Settings.
   The Settings page opens.
2. In the tab pane, click Migration → Import.
   The Migration Import page opens.
3. Upload the CMA file.
4. Click Import.
