The asset lifecycle starts automatically when an asset is created. For assets that existed before lifecycle management was configured for their type, or for assets that are imported, you must start the lifecycle manually.
Prerequisites
- The Activate Lifecycle tracker option is selected in the Lifecycle tab of the asset type's global assignment.
- You have one of the following resource permissions on the asset or on the community or domain in which the asset is stored:
- Asset > Update Status
- Asset > Lifecycle Management > Update Status
Steps
- Open the relevant asset page.
- Click Start lifecycle.
The Start lifecycle for <name> dialog box appears. - Click Start.
The Lifecycle tracker is shown on the asset page and populated with the relevant lifecycle activities.
